70dayweekend is a TX-based indie music blog. I love music. I want you to love music as much as I do. So, I post music I hope you’ll like.
Primarily, this means posting mp3s and videos. From time to time, I also post different features, including:
- new sound: highlighting new and rising bands
- better late than never: tracks it took a little longer to love
- words about sound: reviewing books about music
- throwback thursday: taking you back, one song at a time
- take cover: favorite bands covering other favorite bands
All music posted here is free and legally available. If you think something has been posted in error, let us know. If you find some music you love, please consider purchasing it, either online or at your local record store.
To tell me about the music you love (or for any reason, really), e-mail 70dayweekend [at] gmail [dot] com or follow me on twitter.

I’m glad you were on Freshly Pressed. My music collection can get stale, so it is nice for new artists for a change!
Thank you! Hope you find some things you like
i ran across this blog for the first time the other day, and while i only recognized a few bands listed, they’re ones i really like. i can’t wait to listen to some of the other music you’ve recommended!
Awesome! Well I hope you find some new favorite bands while clicking around.
Hi I was wondering how to send music to you via email? My band Baby Buffalo just released a new EP and I was hoping to get it under new sound. I was stoked to see my friends band KO KO on your website; I really enjoy what you’re doing.
Hey – thanks! You can sent music to 70dayweekend [at] gmail [dot] com. I’d love to hear it.
Very cool blog!
Thank you!
Love what you’re doing here Laura, I’ve discovered so many new tunes through this blog. I cannot stop listening to that CHVRCHES track and it’s all your fault! Do you mind if I send some music your way for consideration in your New Sound section?
Thanks! I can definitely take a listen to your stuff – email me at 70dayweekend {AT} gmail {DOT} com.
Hi Laura – everyone wants your ears to experience their music! (me too…) – I can see I can send you a download link by email, and I’ll do that. The band is Heed the Thunder http://heedthethunder.bandcamp.com/ – I’d love to know what you think of it
– keep up the good work
Thanks for sharing!
