“I thought it was going to be terrible!”
That’s a line from a conversation I had about this new CHVRCHES track. When a band drops a track as infectious as “The Mother We Share,” it’s easy to worry that they won’t be able to put out anything else that compares to it.
It may be cliche to worry about one-hit wonders, but it’s only cliche because it’s based in reality.
So, it was with trepidation that I clicked on the latest track from CHVRCHES, “Recover,” and I feel confident that they’re not one-hit wonder. Don’t get me wrong – it’s not a repeat of “The Mother We Share” but it definitely shows the band has more than one note.
This track will be featured on a new EP, Recover, which will be released March 26th via Glassnote. Check it out below:
Listen for: the fantastic Glasglow accent that comes out in Lauren Mayberry’s vocals.
