listen: “you (ha ha ha)” – charli xcx

charli xcx you

We did not get enough Charli XCX in 2012.  Sure, there were a few mixtapes and a video featuring little goth girls, but that is simply not enough.

Her debut album is set to be released this year, but with no set date (sources say “February”), we might be waiting for a while for that.  In the meantime, she’s got a new track that she premiered on Radio 1 called “You (Ha Ha Ha).”  And yes, “ha ha ha” is an actual lyric.

The song features Gold Panda‘s track “You,” which is a song you’ve already had in your head, even if you think you don’t know it.  And since this is a radio rip, you also get the DJ’s inane intro for the first few seconds.

Listen for: the spoken word at 2:13 if you’re a sucker for accents.

[via Listen Before You Buy, which referred to this rip as a “musical blunt”]

  1. Is she laying her lines over Gold Panda’s “You”? I really like that track.

    • Yup, she is. That Gold Panda track is one that sticks in your head.
