watch: “season in hell” – dum dum girls

Dum Dum Girls are one of the more prolific indie bands out there right now, having released 2 full-lengths and 4 EPs since 2008. So if you haven’t gotten a change to check out their most recent EP, End Of Daze, it’s understandable.
But, it’s also something you’re going to want to rectify real soon. The EP, released last month via via Sub Pop, features 5 garage pop jams you’ll want to hear.
You can hear Dum Dum Girls talk about their music and their fans in Pitchfork.tv’s “+1″ series, as well as perform the track “Season in Hell” off that release.
And if you need some riot grrl style in your life, check out this quote from bassist Malia James:
“The teenage girls I have met are really excited about the band. There’s a real inspired spirit in young girls right now because they’re seeing more women in bands, and they get excited…You just say, ‘You can do this too. I started when I was older than you.’…. Just do it. Just pick up a guitar. Just start playing and have fun.”
Check out the whole clip below, or skip to 2:45 if you just want to hear the song.
Watch for: some tight shots of the Malia playing the bass at 4:33.
While you’re at it you can stream the entire EP via Soundcloud, until you realize you need your own copy:

This is an amazing EP!
Agreed! In general, I’ve enjoyed their EPs even more than their full-lengths.
Far and away my favorite track on this EP. Definitely has a great 80s Cure and 80s New Wave vibe under the surface.
