listen: “fireflies” – still corners

I can’t remember if I’ve already ranted about this, but here it goes: 7-inches. As in vinyl singles. They are great! They get exposure for new bands! They let established bands release fun songs that didn’t make the album! Sometimes they come in fun colors!
Except for one thing: that no one actually plays them. Now before you start telling me you do, let me just stop you right there. Because you don’t. Unless you DJ on the regular, your 7″s are not in regular rotation. And no, that one time you listened to a bunch of them when you were drunk and sad (or happy?) doesn’t count.
But that’s okay! Because you can buy the vinyl to support the band (and end up with a physical piece of music), and still enjoy the songs. The answer is mp3s.
Case in point: London’s Still Corners are releasing a European tour-only 7″ single. Chances are, you’re not going to be at those shows, but, through the magic of the Internet, you can still hear the song (below), and download the mp3:
Listen for: the outro that begins at 2:57 and imagine is lulling you softly to sleep.

I wish I could like this twice.
